Good Thursday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Wednesday, 8/1/18.

-FM 2641 at FM 2130, Anton: Assist Other Agency. A deputy responded to a call about an individual who reportedly attempted to steal a vehicle in Lubbock County and fled into Hockley County on FM 2641. The area was checked and the individual was not located.

-200 blk Pecan, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to assist with a call of an individual in a medical emergency. One individual was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

-200 blk Cherry, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy in the area assisted with a complaint of a possible burglary in the area. It was determined to be children playing near a residence.

-6900 blk Maine Rd, Anton: Alarm. A deputy was dispatched to a residence in the area related to an alarm call. The property was secure.

-100 blk Crestview, Levelland: Assault. A deputy was dispatched to a residence related to an assault complaint. One individual reported being assaulted by another, and the suspect fled when law enforcement was called. Information for a report was collected and the incident is being investigated.

-600 blk Duggan, Anton: Assist Anton PD. A deputy was dispatched to assist with a report of a possible suicidal subject. Anton PD detained one individual for evaluation and an emergency detention.

-6800 blk Bearcat, Smyer: Suspicious Activity. A deputy responded to a complaint of individuals outside of the residence. The area was checked and no one was located in the area. No additional calls were received.

-6400 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Burglary. A deputy responded to a complaint of a burglary that occurred at a residence in the area. A firearm was reported stolen from the residence. The incident is under investigation at this time.

-FM 303 at FM 597, Levelland: Fire. Deputies were dispatched to the area related to a grass fire. Personnel provided traffic control due to low visibility caused by smoke in the area. Fire crews extinguished the fire, and deputies assisted as needed.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 8/2/128 at 0800 hours: 59 in Hockley County, 3 to be processed, 38 out of county.
