**Fugitive Arrested**
Roy Champion Sr. is now in custody. Champion was arrested late last night in Arizona by US Marshals. He was wanted on numerous charges including five(5) counts of Child Molestation in Candler County. He will likely face more charges as the investigation progresses. Champion is currently in jail at the Coconino County Jail in Flagstaff, Arizona awaiting extradition back to Georgia.
We would like to thank the United States Marshals Service Southeastern Fugitive Task Force for their excellent work on this case and their relentless pursuit of wanted persons. We would also like to thank the public and members of the media who helped us get the information out there. We received numerous calls and tips from the exposure. Without help from the public, cases such as this would be far more difficult.
This case was investigated by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Candler County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshals Service Southeastern Fugitive Task Force.
