The use of security camera systems both at residences and businesses has expanded greatly over the recent years. And as you've seen in the media, the extra set of "eyes" in the community is a great tool to help in the investigative process.
We just wanted to take a minute to remind everyone that your Milpitas Police Department has Camera Registry Program. Here is a brief explanation of the program and a link to sign up if you'd like to.
The Milpitas Police Department Camera Registry Program allows Milpitas residents and business owners to register their privately-owned security camera systems to help solve crime.
As crimes occur, the Milpitas Police Department may be able to use information from footage gathered from security cameras to assist the investigation. Often times security camera footage helps identify suspects and/or provides additional investigative leads.
The Milpitas Police Department WILL NOT have remote access to your home or business security camera systems. Camera footage is provided to us solely at the owner's discretion.
