Heat wave is continuing, cooling centers will be open, today and tomorrow. See information.

Temperatures are expected to reach the low to mid 90's today with a peak heat index of 96-100. Tomorrow will not be as warm, but will still remain in the low 90's.

The Office of Emergency Management advises residents that the North Brunswick Library (880 Hermann Road) and the North Brunswick Senior Center (15 Linwood Place) have been designated as cooling centers. The following are hours for the Library:
Tuesday & Wednesday 10:00 A.M. -9:00 P.M.

The Senior Center will be open:
Tuesday & Wednesday 8:30 A.M. - 4:00 P.M.

Please take it easy when working outdoors, drink plenty of water and seek shade when possible. Wear lightweight clothing. Never leave people or pets in a closed car. Also, check on family members and neighbors. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Anyone overcome by the heat should be moved to a cool shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency.... call 9-1-1.
