Good Tuesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 8/3/18, through Monday, 8/6/18.
8/3/18
-2900 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to the area to locate a loose horse. The area was checked and the horse had been secured. No loose livestock were located.
-Hwy 385 at Alaska Rd, Levelland: Check Welfare. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a request to check on a female walking along the roadway. The individual was located and refused EMS assistance. The individual stated she was walking after a verbal argument. No offenses were observed or reported.
-Hwy 84 at FM 168, Anton: Theft. A deputy was dispatched to the area after a complainant stated he was following a person who possibly committed a theft offense. The individuals continued into Lamb County and the information was reported to other agencies. No offense was reported in our county.
8/4/18
-200 blk Linda Ln, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies responded to assist with a report of a possible suicidal subject in the area. Levelland PD conducted the investigation and deputies assisted as needed.
-4200 blk FM 168, Ropesville: Assist Lubbock PD. A deputy was requested to assist with delivering information to residents in the area. Message was delivered.
-Quail Rd at Bearcat Rd, Smyer: Traffic Complaint. A resident in the area requested patrols due to reckless driving complaints in the area. Deputies will continue to monitor the area due to the complaint.
-600 blk Duke, Anton: Disturbance. A deputy was dispatched to a residence in the area related to a reported disturbance. No offense was reported, as the disturbance was verbal only. One individual was arrested for an active warrant and transported to the Detention Center without incident.
-2500 blk Holland Rd, Levelland: Fire. A deputy responded to the area related to a fire. The deputy assisted as needed and the fire department arrived to extinguish the fire.
8/5/18
-Quail Rd at Hwy 114, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was dispatched to a vehicle crash in the area and provided traffic control assistance as needed. DPS arrived to conduct the crash investigation.
-Hwy 84 at FM 168, Anton: Reckless Driver. A deputy responded to a complaint of a reckless driver along the highway. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.
-6200 blk Hwy 114, Smyer: Theft. A deputy was contacted in reference to a reported stolen vehicle. The complainant advised a subject known to him took his vehicle. The vehicle was later located in Lubbock and one individual was detained. The complainant declined to pursue criminal charges after retrieving his vehicle.
-2900 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy responded to the area related to a loose horse complaint. On arrival it was determined the hose was secured. No loose livestock was located.
-6400 blk Foster Rd, Ropesville: Injury to Child. A deputy was dispatched to a residence related to a complaint of possible injury to a child. After the child returned home there was injury observed by the complainant and a report was made related to the incident. The matter is under investigation.
8/6/18
-6700 blk Oxen Rd, Ropesville: Shots Fired. Deputies responded to a complaint of individuals possibly shooting in the area. The area was checked and no one was located. The complainant later advised the individuals left the area prior to arrival of deputies. No other calls were received.
-Drill Stem at Ironman Rd, Sundown: Fire. A deputy responded to a call of a fire in the area. It was determined to be a controlled burn.
Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.
Jail population as of 8/7/18 at 0800 hours: 56 in Hockley County, 6 to be processed, 37 out of county.
