Here are the planned construction activities for the week of August 13 as progress continues on the South Bay Rapid Transit Project:

Interstate 805 (I-805) to Heritage Road (Segment 1A) – City of Chula Vista
• Sidewalk closures at the intersection of East Palomar Street and Oleander Avenue.
• Intermittent lane closures on eastbound East Palomar Street between Paseo Ladera and Heritage Road.
• Lane and sidewalk closures along westbound East Palomar Street between Medical Center Drive and Heritage Road.
o The MTS bus stop on East Palomar Street east of Medical Center Drive has been relocated to west of Medical Center Drive. Pedestrian detours will be in place.
o The temporary MTS bus stop on East Palomar Street west of Santa Maria Drive has been relocated further west. Pedestrian detours will be in place.
• Sidewalk closure along the east side of Medical Center Court from Tivoli Villas to the intersection of Medical Center Court and East Palomar Street, and along the north side of East Palomar Street between Medical Center Court and the Missions at Sunbow Apartments.
o The MTS bus stop on East Palomar Street east of Medical Center Court has been relocated to the west side of Medical Center Court. Pedestrian detours will be in place.
• Sidewalk closure along the east side of Santa Olivia Road from Strawberry Creek Street to the intersection of Santa Olivia Road and East Palomar Street.
o All north-south pedestrian traffic crossing East Palomar Street will occur on the west side of the intersection.
• Sidewalk closure along the west side of Santa Maria Road from Misty Creek Court to the intersection of Santa Maria Road and East Palomar Street.
o All north-south pedestrian traffic crossing East Palomar Street will occur on the east side of the intersection.
• Southbound right turn lane closure at the intersection of East Palomar Street and Heritage Road to accommodate curb ramp improvements at the northwest corner of the intersection.
o Right turns will still be allowed onto westbound East Palomar Street from the right southbound lane. Pedestrian detours will be in place.

Olympic Parkway to State Route 125 (SR 125) (Segment 2) – City of Chula Vista
• Periodic noise, dust, and continuous closure of the left (No. 1) lane on eastbound East Palomar Street between Olympic Parkway and Magdalena Avenue for guideway construction.
• Periodic noise, dust, and vibration due to landscaping and minor retaining wall improvements adjacent to the transit guideway bridge.
• Periodic daytime noise, dust, and traffic control along East Palomar Street and Magdalena Avenue while crews continue to work on the future Santa Venetia Rapid Station.
• Periodic noise, dust, and traffic control near the intersection of East Palomar Street and Magdalena Avenue to accommodate installation of new traffic signals.
• Sidewalk closure adjacent to Treviana community between Magdalena Avenue and SR 125 to accommodate irrigation and retaining wall improvements.
o All east-west pedestrian traffic will be detoured south of the sidewalk closure.

Town Center Drive to Birch Road (Segment 2) – City of Chula Vista
• Periodic daytime noise and dust along Eastlake Parkway adjacent to Kestrel Falls Road while crews continue to work on the future Otay Ranch Rapid Station.
