Fatal Traffic Collision

On August 11, 2018 at approximately 2:13 AM, officers from the Torrance Police Department responded to a major traffic collision at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Madison Street. 
 
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a black Audi, driven by a 27-year-old male, traveling westbound on Pacific Coast Highway collided with a tree located on the north side of the road west of Madison St. 
 
The 27-year-old male driver sustained major injuries and was treated by Torrance Fire Department personnel at the scene and unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.  
 
Pacific Coast Highway between Madison Street and Hawthorne Boulevard was closed for approximately six hours during the investigation.     This collision is being investigated by the Torrance Police Department’s Traffic Division under the command of Captain Mark Underwood, Commander of the Special Operations Bureau.  Anyone with information regarding this collision is encouraged to contact the Torrance Police Department’s Traffic Division at (310) 618-5557.
