These doorbell cameras connect to your WiFi network and are motion-activated. When activated by someone coming onto your property, the free app that comes with the doorbell cameras instantly sends you an alert and allows you to view a live video feed from your doorbell camera on your smartphone. The app also allows you to see, hear and speak to the people at your doorstep straight from your smartphone, tablet or PC.
Most of the companies who offer the doorbell video camera also offer a suite of other products such as floodlight and spotlight cameras that operate in the same manner as the doorbell camera. These motion-activated cameras are very affordable and easy to install. These doorbell video cameras can help reduce crime, deter crime and help catch criminals when a crime has occurred. The video evidence captured on one of these devices can help Law Enforcement quickly identify criminals and ultimately assist with prosecution.
The Lindenwold Police Department is asking all of our residents to consider purchasing and installing a doorbell video camera in an effort to help reduce property crime in our community. All residents who purchase one of these devices, or who have already purchased one, are asked to register your cameras with the Lindenwold Police Department Camera Registry Program.
