The Saddle Brook Police Department is currently investigating several motor vehicle burglaries. Surrounding jurisdictions have also experienced similar incidents and we are also conducting joint investigations with those police departments.

These are basically "crimes of opportunity" for the people responsible. Our investigations have revealed that random attempts are made to open unlocked vehicle doors. If the doors are unlocked, the vehicle is entered and spare change or anything of value is taken.

These incidents do not appear to be confined to any specific area.

The Saddle Brook Police Department is reminding residents to lock all vehicle doors. In addition, please remove valuables from the inside.

Residents are asked to report any motor vehicle burglaries or suspicious activity by calling police headquarters at 201-843-7000. Crimes in progress or emergencies should be reported by dialing 9-1-1.
