EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: All outdoor recreational fires (campfires), within the Truckee Fire Protection District have been banned for the remainder of the fire season per the California Fire Code and District Policy. 

The FIRE BAN pertains to outdoor wood burning recreational fires including campfires, bonfires and portable outdoor fire pits. 

Exceptions: 

* Campfires in designated campgrounds on State or Federal lands. 

* Gas (LPG, NG) outdoor fireplaces and BBQ’s. 
 

The FIRE BAN will be in effect for the for the remainder of the fire season which usually ends around November, after we have received significant moisture and the ban has been lifted by the Fire District.
