Chula Vista Fire Department Explorer Program - Now Recruiting. Specifically, the annual recruitment begins September 01, 2018. This program has been around since 1989 and introduces youth, ages 16-21, to the Fire Service. Participants not only receive hands-on firefighter training, they also learn important life skills.
