_____________________________________________
The Hayward Fire Department and Alameda County Fire Department are at the scene of an acid leak on the Winton Avenue on-ramp to I-880 in Hayward.

The leak is stopped and an unknown amount of product is on the ground. Based on the known capacity of the containers it is possible the leak could be up to 300 gallons of acid.

The leak is creating a vapor plume blowing southeast from the Winton Avenue off-ramp at I-880.

A reverse 911 call was issued for a Shelter-In-Place within the area from Jackson Street (South) to Winton Avenue (North) to Amador Street (East) to I-880 (West).

The product on the ground is reacting and started a vegetation fire.

The Fremont Fire Department Special Operations Task Force was also requested to respond to the scene.

This update is being sent in coordination with the Hayward Fire Department.
