At about 4:00 am on Sunday morning the Police Department received a call from a female regarding an unknown male inside her residence. The caller reported the male, later identified as Dennis Hickey, was walking throughout her residence and up the stairs toward her location. She yelled at Mr. Hickey, startling him, and he fled from the residence through an unlocked front door.
Responding officers located Mr. Hickey a short distance from the residence and detained him. Mr. Hickey was positively identified and ultimately arrested for residential burglary, being under the influence of a controlled substance and violating his parole terms.
The San Luis Obispo Police Department wants to remind everyone to be sure to lock their doors and windows, especially during the late night and early morning hours.
