Parking and Driving Safety at the SRJC Campuses

The Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) District Police Department would like to welcome everyone in our community to the Fall 2018 semester. Over the first week, you may have noticed several construction projects currently underway at many of our campuses. We now have solar panels in the parking lots at our Petaluma and Santa Rosa Campuses and the Burbank Auditorium restoration is well underway. While we are eagerly await the many improvements to all our campuses, we also recognize the impact these projects have on traffic, pedestrian pathways, and parking.

We ask for your patience as we confront these issues by working in partnership with the several SRJC departments to find solutions. The District continues to look for alternative off-site parking locations to supplement any lost parking, particularly at the Santa Rosa Campus. The District has worked with Santa Rosa CityBus, Petaluma Transit, and Sonoma County Transit to provide free busing to current students as alternative to driving a vehicle to campus; https://pr.santarosa.edu/parking-santa-rosa-campus-fall-2018 .

As a reminder, the District Police enforce parking 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year in order to manage the capacity of the parking lots. A parking permit only entitles parking on campus when space is available. A valid parking permit is required to be displayed at all times on all vehicles parked on SRJC property with the exception vehicles parked at metered spaces. Vehicle parked at expired meters are subject to citation. Valid permits must be displayed from the review mirror and daily/miscellaneous permits displayed on the vehicle dashboard.

SANTA ROSA CAMPUS: Students must park in student parking spots between two white lines from opening until 3:00 p.m. After 3:00 p.m. students can park in staff parking, between two yellow lines, with the EXCEPTION of B Lot (center of the Santa Rosa Campus). B Lot is open to students at 7:00 p.m. The campus closes at 11:00 p.m. and vehicles must be removed at that time. If a vehicle is going to be on campus overnight, District Police must be notified and an overnight parking permit displayed on the vehicle; (707)527-1000.

PETALUMA and WINDSOR CAMPUSES: Students must park in student parking spots between two white lines at all times.

PARKING SPOT COLOR GUIDE:
White Lines = Student parking
Yellow Lines = Staff parking or loading zone when marked/signed
Blue Lines = Disabled parking
Red Lines = No parking / Tow-away zone
Parking Meters = Visitor parking
Areas with no marking = No parking at any time

The District has set up a temporary parking lot at Elliott Avenue and Albany Drive. Vehicles can be parked at this lot during daytime hours only for safety reasons. Vehicles parked in this lot are subject to citation after sunset. This applies only to this parking lot. For more information regarding parking on the SRJC campuses, go to our website; https://police.santarosa.edu/general-parking-information.

The District Police would also like to remind everyone to drive safely on campus especially around construction areas. We ask everyone to be aware of pedestrians, bicyclists, and other vehicles when driving on campus. As a reminder, the speed limit on campus is 15 MPH and on Elliott Avenue the speed limits 25 MPH.

The District Police are here to provide safety and police services to our community so our students can achieve their goals and faculty and staff are able work in an environment to help them do so. We wish you all a successful and safe semester!
