Report of Disturbance at Flying J results in arrest of Chicago man.

On August 26, 2018, at 12:45 a.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a report of a disturbance involving a knife at the Flying J. Truck Stop located at 844 E. 1250 South. Upon arriving Deputy Loren Barchett began an investigation into the incident. During the investigation 62 year old Karol Rybczyk of Chicago began to physically resist Deputy Barchett during a pat down for weapons. Once Mr. Rybczyk was secured he was taken into custody and transported to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Rybczyk was charged with Resisting Law Enforcement and Intimidation with a Deadly Weapon. He remains in custody on a $2500 bond.

Assisting Deputy Barchett in his investigation was Fort Branch Officer Jeff Beck and Haubstadt Officer Jeremy Volk.

All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
