On August 28, 2018 at approximately 1:29 a.m., police officers and firefighters from the Noblesville Police & Fire Departments responded to the intersection of SR 32 and SR 37 (Noblesville) in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist and a motor vehicle. Officers and firefighters arrived on the scene a short time later and began to investigate.

Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, it appears that a bicyclist was traveling eastbound on SR 32 when he was struck by a 2014 Chevrolet Spark that was traveling northbound on SR 37. Information available to investigators at the scene suggests that the traffic signal for the motorist was green at the time of the collision.

The bicyclist was identified as Christian S. Sheller, 47, of Noblesville, IN. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Family notifications have been made. There were no other occupants on the bicycle.

The driver of the Chevrolet Spark was identified as Donnis P. Snorton, 62, of Indianapolis, IN. He did not report any injuries. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.

Investigators from the NPD Accident Reconstruction Unit were summons to the scene to collect evidence and gather information. As a result of the investigation, lanes of SR 32 & SR 37 were either closed or restricted until approximately 4:24 a.m.

This remains an ongoing investigation.
