An unknown male was struck and killed by a train at Under the Mill Street overpass on August 29th, 2018.

On Wednesday August 29, 2018 at approximately 10:25 am, San Luis Obispo Police and Fire personnel responded to the report of a train vs. pedestrian collision on the rail road tracks at the Mill Street overpass. Upon their arrival they found a male white in his mid-thirties lying along side the rail road tracks partially under the stopped train. The subject had obviously been struck by the train based on the condition of his body. Emergency personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene. The San Luis Obispo County Coroner responded to the scene to assist in the investigation.
It appears the man was struck by the train under the Mill Street overpass, but the circumstances leading up to the collision are still being investigated. The man’s identity is not being released at this time until his family is notified. While there is no foul play suspected at this time, this case is still under investigation and police are asking anyone who may information to notify the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
