Sergeant Carleton (Carl) Umphlett, a six year veteran with the Lake Lure Police Department, successfully completed the Law Enforcement Officers' Professional Certificate Progam earning him an ADVANCED LAW ENFORCEMENT CERTIFICATION.
This program is a method by which dedicated officers may receive recognition for education, professional training, and on-the-job experience. In order to receive this award, officers must acquire a combination of education and training points, along with years of full-time law enforcement experience.
