UPDATE: Service Restored after Water Main Break on Springdale Drive
The City of St. Peters Utilities Department has restored service for water customers after partially repairing a water main break on Springdale Drive today, Aug. 30, 2018. Service has been restored for affected customers on Marion Drive, Springdale Drive, Millrace Drive, Spring Valley Drive, McClay Valley Boulevard (from McClay Road to Park Valley), Prospect Point Subdivision and McClay Road (from Millrace to Woodbriar), and water pressure is back to normal for Woodbriar subdivision.
Crews will return to this area Friday morning, Aug. 31, to continue to work on this repair project, but customers who were previously affected are not expected to to lose service again. The City will release more information on Friday about repair work on Claydell Drive that may require some surrounding homes to be without water service.
A mandatory boil order is not necessary, but affected customers may boil their water as a precautionary step if they wish. The City of St. Peters will collect a water quality sample as a precaution, and results will be available in 24 hours.
If a customer has discolored water due to a loss of pressure, this was caused by the home’s internal plumbing. If you experience discolored water after a main break, you can flush your internal plumbing lines by running the largest faucet in your home, normally the bath tub faucet or any faucet experiencing discolored water, until your water is clear.
Any updates to this project will be posted online at www.stpetersmo.net, on Twitter @StPetersMo, and through Nixle messages. Stay connected with the City of St. Peters by subscribing online at www.stpetersmo.net/Subscribe.
