David Ford and Arelis Mejia arrested for possession of narcotics while armed

INCIDENT: Possession of Narcotics While Armed, Commit Felony While on Bail
LOCATION: 18000 Block of Santa Ana Avenue, Bloomington
SUSPECT(S): David Ford, 30-year-old resident of Bloomington
Arelis Mejia, 29-year-old resident of Rialto
SUMMARY: On Thursday, August 30, 2018, investigators from the Fontana Station's Criminal Investigations Division, Patrol Division, and San Bernardino County Auto Theft Task Force (SANCATT) served two search warrants in the 18000 Block of Santa Ana Avenue in the County area of Bloomington. During this service, investigators located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, numerous suspected Ecstasy tablets for sale, and other narcotics and paraphernalia. Investigators also found two handguns and an illegally modified 12-gauge shotgun and various ammunition.
David Ford and Arelis Mejia were home during the search warrant. Mejia attempted to conceal her identity by impersonating another person. Investigators determined her true identity, and she was found to have several active warrants for her arrest. Both Ford and Arelis were arrested and booked on charges of violation of Health and Safety Code 11370.1(a), Possession of Narcotics while Armed, False Personation of Another, Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, and Committing a Felony While Out on Bail. Ford had been recently arrested within the last two weeks. He was released on bail for being an Owner in Possession of a Chop Shop and Possession of Stolen Vehicles.
