Burglary Suspect Captured After High Speed Chase With Sheriff Victor Hill’s Elite B.A.T. Squad
Wednesday evening Sheriff Victor Hill’s elite B.A.T. (Burglary-Autotheft-Truancy) Squad conducted a road check in the area of Lee’s Mill Rd. Richard McGhee who was wanted for burglary and drug related charges decided he did not want to go through the Sheriff’s road block. He turned around and took off instead. B.A.T. Squad units gave chase and McGhee fled down 75 Northbound into Atlanta.
McGhee tried every driving maneuver he could, but was unable to outmaneuver the highly skilled crime fighters. Suddenly, for reasons only known to McGhee, he got off on Cleveland Ave and got back on 75 Southbound and came back to Clayton County. This was an error he now regrets because a calvary of Deputies and PD Officers were waiting for his return.
Unable to shake the B.A.T. Squad, McGhee finally jumped out of the vehicle running on foot on Morrow Rd in Forest Park. He was tracked to some bushes he was hiding in by K-9 Brody. McGhee had an unsuccessful fight with the K-9 and loss. The vehicle McGhee was in came back stolen.
McGhee is now in the “Hill-ton” facing the wall at Georgia’s toughest para-military jail.
