Possible explosive device reported in Surfside Beach. Horry County Bomb Squad responded and scene controlled. 
The Police Department has responded to a report of a possible explosive device in Town. The Horry County Bomb Squad has been notified and has responded. As a precaution, plans are underway to safely destroy the device in the next 30 minutes. Residents on the south end of Town may hear a loud noise or explosion during this process. There is no immediate threat to the public at this time.
