Incident Summary

On September 6, 2018, at approximately 6:36 PM, officers responded to the 7-Eleven store located at 2200 Lakeville Hwy. after an employee reported a male subject had come into the store demanding the employee call 9-1-1 or that he would kill them.  The employee stated the subject had exited the store and provided a description of the subject.

Officers located a subject, later identified as Esmond Hedrington, matching the description in the area of Baywood Drive and Lakeville Hwy.  Hedrington was sweating profusely, stated people were looking to get him, and appeared to be under the influence of drugs.  As the officers spoke with Hedrington he attempted to flee and officers and was placed into handcuffs.  Hedrington continued to resist the officers by lunging at them and attempting to pull away in an attempt to flee.  For Hedrington’s safety and the safety of the officer he was placed into a leg restraint.  Hedrington was found to be in possession of a knife and admitted using methamphetamine.

A records check of Hedrington returned showing that he was on active parole for a prior violation of 422 PC, criminal threats.

Hedrington was placed under arrest for violations of 148(a)(1) PC, resisting arrest, 11550(a)H&S, under the influence of a controlled substance, and 3056 PC, violation of parole.  Hedrington was booked into custody at Sonoma County Jail.

In an unrelated incident at approximately 9:46 PM officers responded to Target on Kenilworth Dr. for a report of a female subject detained for shoplifting merchandise.

The subject, later identified as Corrina Gonzalez, originally provided a false name.  Once her true identity was discovered a records check returned showing that Gonzalez was a wanted persona and had an active felony parole warrant for assault with a deadly weapon.

Gonzalez was placed under arrest for a violation of 459.5 PC, shoplifting, and the parole warrant.  Gonzalez was transported to Sonoma County Jail and booked into custody.
