EMA is closely monitoring Hurricane Florence. 
We are closely monitoring Hurricane Florence. We have been meeting regularly with some of our EMA partners and attending all National Weather Service Briefings. It is still too early to determine potential impacts to Candler County, However, we notify everyone as soon as possible if there is any indication of a local impact.
Here is what we know from the briefing this morning. Candler County Officials and EMA Partners are meeting and making preparations if there is any local impact from the event.
There has been a slight shift in the potential track once Florence nears the coast of North Carolina. This could be indicative of an increasing chance for impacts for southeast SC and GA. The NWS cautions to NOT focus on the exact tract or forecast as impacts could/will occur well away from the storm center. The image attached indicates the potential path of the storm as of 2PM.
We have another meeting scheduled for this afternoon. We will keep everyone updated with the latest information.
