Family Friendly Event: Santa Barbara Police Department’s – Open Porch Community Event: Sept 29th 9-11:30am
We invite the public to join us at the Santa Barbara Police Department’s – Open Porch Community Event -- celebrating our community and honoring the legacy of our fallen officers. The event takes place 9 to 11:30 A.M. on September 29, 2018, at the Police Department Headquarters located at 215 E. Figueroa – see attached PDF. Complimentary off-Street parking for the event is located at Jury Parking Lot, 1019 Garden Street.
The event will take place on the front steps of the PD as well as in the street in front of the station. Figueroa will be closed at each cross street to facilitate police-oriented community engagement exhibits. This is a wonderful opportunity to interact on a personal level with the agency that serves you daily. Meet our Department! Including Police Officers, Volunteers in Policing, Chaplains, Explorers, Crime Scene Investigators, our friends from the Police Activities League, and more.
Kids activities: Explore police cars, motorcycles and bicycles; Face painting, Police DRAGG race care and more. Special appearance by the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit (YES, HORSES!) and ceremonial music by the SBSO Pipe and Drum Corps.
