Storm Message 1-Shelter
This is a message from Hoke County Government for all citizens of Hoke County. At the time of this message, the forecast tract of Hurricane Florence indicates that Hoke County will receive significant rainfall and winds at tropical storm or hurricane speeds. We would like to urge to to think about if you are planning to go to a shelter. If you are the time to do it is now and not tomorrow during the storm. When the storm hits, no one will be able to evacuate you until after the storm is over and it might be 72 hours before you can be reached then. The time to act is now if you are planning to go to a shelter. The shelter at Don Steed Elementary School at 800 Philippi Church Rd. will open at 6:00 pm Wednesday. Please go to www.readyhoke.org for the latest information. During the storm please do not call 911 for power outages. Contact your power company. 911 cannot restore your power.
