On Friday, September 7th 2018, the Anderson Police Department received a report from the Anderson Union High School District about an inappropriate relationship between a student and staff member. Due to the crime occurring in both the Redding and Anderson areas the Anderson Police Department, Redding Police Department and Shasta County District Attorney’s Office conducted a joint agency investigation.

With cooperation from the Anderson Union High School District the investigators were able identify the suspect as Daniel Schafer, age 35 of Redding.

On Wednesday, September 12th 2018, the Anderson Police Department arrested Schafer and booked him into the Shasta County Jail. The Anderson Police Department would like to thank the aforementioned agencies for their assistance during this investigation.

Due to the nature of the case no further information will be released at this time.
