Alhambra Police Department Active Shooter Response Training on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018 from 7:30am - 12:00pm.

The Alhambra Police Department in partnership with the Alhambra Unified School District (AUSD) will be conducting two days of Active Shooter training on Saturday, September 15, 2018 and Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Alhambra High School campus (101 South Second Street). The training scenarios will include over 1,000 AUSD employees, police officers from the Alhambra Police Department, Alhambra Fire Department, as well as first responders from the cities of San Marino, South Pasadena, San Gabriel, and Monterey Park.

The purpose of this training is to provide first responders the opportunity to develop their skills, tactics and planning with various components of critical and fluid incidents. The AUSD staff will take active roles in the training, as well as be exposed to some of the stressors, such as actors playing wounded and frantic students, the sounds of simulated gun fire and inert improvised explosive devices (IED’s). The Alhambra Police Department has a long history of partnership with the Alhambra Unified School District in our efforts to provide a safe environment for students and staff through collaborative training and communication.

A press area will be designated across the street from the Alhambra High School campus. Representatives from the Alhambra Police Department will be available to answer questions.
