LOCATION: Mesa Linda Park, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Hector Sanchez, 44-year old Phelan resident
SUMMARY: On September 15, 2018, deputies from Victorville Police Department responded to a disturbance call at Mesa Linda Park, in the 13100 block of Mesa Linda Drive.
Hector Sanchez, 44 of Phelan, was reportedly at Mesa Linda Park for an extended period and according to witnesses was displaying unusual behavior. At approximately 3:00pm Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call that Sanchez approached two men and began yelling at them. The men told Sanchez to back away and Sanchez pulled a knife from his backpack and began swinging it at the men. Sanchez was detained by the victims until deputies arrived on scene. Sanchez was taken to a local hospital for observation. On September 16, 2018, while still at the hospital, Sanchez pushed a hospital staff member.
Upon discharge from the hospital, Sanchez was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon and battery on a person.
