U.S. MARSHALS ARREST BUCKS COUNTY SEX OFFENDER HIDING IN CLOSET
PHILADELPHIA — Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force arrested David Allen Hamilton, 47, for rape of a child and related charges, at approximately 10:15 a.m. in Aston Pennsylvania. The arrest was made in relation to numerous sexual assaults which occured over the past 5 years, in the 100 block of Highland Avenue, Feasterville-Trevose Pennsylvania. After a thorough investigation by members of the Lower Southampton Police Department, a warrant was issued for Hamilton on September 19th, 2018. The case was immediately referred to members of the Eastern Pennsylvania U.S. Marshal’s Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force located in Philadelphia.
After receiving a tip, members of the Marshals Fugitive Task Force and Aston Police Department surrounded a residence in the 100 block of Roberts Road, where they believed Hamilton to be. After Marshals knocked and announced their presence, investigators entered the residence. Marshals and Aston police officers searched the home and Hamilton was found hiding in a second floor bedroom closet. He was then taken into custody without incident. It is believed the residence belongs to a female family member of Hamilton. Hamilton was transported to the Aston Police Department for processing and the Lower Southampton Police Department was notified. Supervisory Deputy Robert Clark stated, “This sexual predator placed the community in significant danger. We are extremely glad we were able to bring Mr. Hamilton in custody without incident and in a timely manner.”
This fugitive investigation was a joint effort by the U.S. Marshals Eastern Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, the Lower Southampton, Solesbury, and Aston Police Departments.
The Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force is a team of law enforcement officers led by U.S. Marshals in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties. The task force’s objective is to seek out and arrest violent crime fugitives. Membership agencies include the Philadelphia Police Department, Pennsylvania State Parole Officers, Pennsylvania State Police, and Pennsylvania Attornery Generals Office..
