Man Arrested for Felony Possession of a Firearm
On Monday, September 24, 2018, as part of an ongoing investigation, Hope Mills Police Detectives, and Patrol Officers performed a traffic stop on a burgundy in color Saturn vehicle on Labonte Drive. During the course of the stop, Investigators located a handgun in the possession of Zachary Allen Nobles, 20 of the 5800 block of Rockfish Road, Hope Mills. After determining that Nobles was a previously convicted felon, he was arrested and placed in the backseat of a patrol vehicle. While in the backseat, Nobles began to try and kick out the back window of the patrol vehicle. Officers were able to subdue Nobles, and he was transported to the Cumberland County Detention Center without further incident where he was jailed for the following charges:
1 Felony Count of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
1 Misdemeanor Count of Possession of Marijuana
1 Misdemeanor Count of Carrying a Concealed Weapon
1 Misdemeanor Count of Resisting a Public Officer
1 Misdemeanor Count of Injury to Personal Property
The originating investigation is still ongoing, and more charges are possible against Nobles, and others.
