The FCC and FEMA will be testing the Emergency Alert System nationwide today, Wednesday, October 3, 2018.
The test will be run from 2:18PM to 2:48PM.
Cellphones will receive a text message 1 time. The text will read:
Presidential Alert
"This is a test of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed".
