Traffic stop leads to the arrest of 3 for possession of a stolen vehicle.

LOCATION: 11200 block of Palmdale Road, in Adelanto
8700 block of Olivera Street, in Victorville
SUSPECT: David Bangs, 35 years-old, of Victorville
Antoinette Ortiz, 34 years-old, of Victorville
Phillip Bauer, 36 years-old, of Victorville
VICTIM: Female adult, 47 years-old, of Chino Hills
Male adult, age not confirmed, of Apple Valley
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 8:44 am, Deputy K. Kraft ran a license plate on a vehicle at Shell gas station on Palmdale Road in Adelanto. The 1997 tan Honda Civic was confirmed stolen out of Chino Hills.
Deputy Kraft contacted the driver, David Bangs, and the passenger, Antoinette Ortiz, and learned neither had permission to possess the vehicle. After further investigation, deputies made contact at the residence of Bangs uncle, Phillip Bauer. Bauer, who lives in the 8700 block of Olivera Street, was found in possession of a stolen 1999 Honda Civic. The Honda Civic had been stolen from the parking lot of the Victor Valley Mall on October 1, 2018.
David Bangs, Antoinette Ortiz, and Phillip Bauer were arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center. Ortiz and Bauer are being held in lieu of $50,000.00 bail. Bangs, who was on PRCS release, is being held without bail on a probation hold.
