We have had two separate reports of bears being seen inside the city of Marion. A young bear was seen in the area of Morehead Road and Rutherford Road, and what appears to be a three bear family was seen near the YMCA on Sugar Hill Road. We ask that you not approach these animals and please do not attempt to feed them. We have been in contact with Wildlife Officers, who have suggested for everyone, to allow the animals to return back into the wooded areas that surround our community.
