SUMMARY:
On Monday, October 8th, at approximately 5:59 pm, deputies assigned to the Chino Hills Station responded to a residential robbery which just occurred. Upon arrival, deputies found one victim bound and suffering from major traumatic injuries, along with a second bound victim who did not appear to be as physically harmed. Deputies discovered the second victim was an employee of a large company who was installing television service inside the first victim's residence. Several suspects, wearing masks, entered the residence, bound both victims, and held them at gunpoint. The suspects struck and assaulted the resident multiple times, and stole property from the residence before fleeing the location. The victim was transported to a local hospital by the Chino Valley Fire Department where he quickly underwent surgery for his injuries. His condition is not known at this time.
During the investigation, deputies located items related to the robbery and assault in a nearby apartment. Deputies later contacted Elise Powell and Davied Rivers walking near the area of the robbery. Powell and Rivers were in possession of items linking them to the robbery and assault. Deputy D. Moyer and his K9 partner Ellie responded to the scene. With the assistance of Deputy E. Smith, they located Deon Bryant nearby. The incident is still under investigation. The suspects, Bryant, Powell, and Rivers will be booked into the West Valley Detention Center for residential robbery, mayhem, and torture.
