On October 9, 2018 Gary Lee Kinsler (DOB: 08/17/1973) was apprehended by the Newberry Police Department without incident in the municipal limits of Newberry. Kinsler was wanted by the Prosperity Police Department for Strong Arm Robbery and Kidnapping for an event that occurred on 10/07/2018 at approximately 10:15 PM at the Bi-Lo located at 518 CR Koon Highway. Kinsler entered the victim’s vehicle and grabbed her by the arm while ordering her to drive. The victim was confined in the vehicle for a brief amount of time before being able to pull away and run for help. Kinsler is in custody at the Newberry County Detention Center.

The Prosperity Police Department would like to extend a thank you to the Newberry Police Department and the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office in their collaborative efforts to apprehend Kinsler.
