Santa Rosa, CA On Thursday, October 11, 2018 at approximately 8:14 p.m., the Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) District Police Department Dispatch Center received a call from a female student who stated a male subject with a gun took all of her money near the southeast side of Bech Hall on the Santa Rosa Campus. An SRJC District Police Officer was in the area and arrived on scene within seconds and two additional officers arrived within a minute.

The investigating officer made contact with the student while all other units searched the area for the suspect. The student said she had just come out from class when two male subjects approached her from behind. The student said one of the males grabbed her by the sleeve of her shirt and she tried to pull away. She said the male then pointed a gun into her back and told her to give him what she had. She removed some money from her backpack and gave it to the male suspect. The student said the male suspect then pushed her toward the bushes and both subjects left southbound on foot, possibly on the pathway between Lark Hall and Baker Hall.

The firearm was described as a black handgun. The first male suspect was described as a dark skinned, medium build, male in a dark hooded sweatshirt, with the hood covering his face, and possibly wearing a “gold chain” necklace. The second subject, described as a dark skinned, heavyset, male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with “USA” on the front and the hood covering his face.

SRJC District Police Officers thoroughly checked the area but were unable to locate the suspects. There were multiple students in the area at the time. This is an ongoing investigation and District Police are asking anyone who witnessed this incident, any suspicious person or activity prior to the incident or afterwards or anyone with additional information regarding this case to contact the SRJC District Police Department at (707) 527-1000.
