Here is the Castaic/ Val Verde (Zone) 2 Crime Information and Public Safety Report for the week of October 1- October 7, 2018:

10/01/18
Domestic Violence- 29000 block of Cashmere Place             
A domestic assault occurred over a pending separation. One party reportedly physically choked the other, upset over the break-up. The victim reported the suspect entered the room uninvited and the altercation occurred.                 
            
10/01/18
Residential Burglary- 31000 block of Avenida Sonrisa 
The victim reported $400 in U.S. and foreign currency was stolen from their house during daytime hours. The suspect entered the house through the rear sliding door. There were no signs of forced entry.

10/5/18
Robbery- 31000 block of Castaic Road.
The business reported U.S. currency was stolen from the cash register. After arguing for a cash refund for services rendered, the suspect reached over the counter and took the money from the register and left the location. 
     
Please be aware that many of the thefts we have seen in the past have been “Crimes of Opportunity”.  Never leave valuables in plain view in your vehicle, close and lock your doors.  Minimize your risk of becoming a victim.
