RED FLAG WARNING in effect Saturday night (10/13) at midnight till 12:00 noon Monday (10/15) for East Bay Hills
The National Weather Service in San Francisco has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from midnight tonight to noon PDT Monday. This affects the North Bay Mountains, East Bay Hills and Diablo Range.
Winds are predicted to be Northeast winds 20 to 35 with gusts to 45 mph, local gusts up to 60 mph.
The minimum daytime humidity values as low as 5 to 10 percent, with overnight humidity recoveries as low as 30 percent.
The greatest threats will be elevations above 1,000 in the East Bay Hills where the driest conditions and strongest winds are most likely. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
