PG&E Planned power shut off for severe wind event to effect portions of the City of Placerville.
PG&E has foretasted a severe wind event that will affect many area's of the Sierra Nevada Foothills including the City of Placerville tonight and into Monday. In response PG&E will conduct a planned power shut off for the effected area's for public safety. The affected areas are projected to be but not limited to downtown, north, and east of the city. All inquiries should be directed to PG&E. The City of Placerville is taking steps to minimize the affect on city residents as practical with back up power generation on vital infrastructure. Residents are encouraged to take appropriate steps in response to this planned power outage to include charged cell phones, battery lighting, and drinking water storage. Residents may experience reduce water flow during this event and are encouraged to limit water use. Water and sewer inquiries should be directed to the El Dorado Irrigation District. This event is not expected to last beyond Monday.
