On October 27, 2018, between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, the Hollis Police Department will host the DEA Drug Take back event. The event will be hosted at the Hollis Police Department and will be coupled with our Coffee with a Cop Program, our annual shred day, a food drive to benefit the Shepherd's Fund, and an Open House at the Hollis Police Department. All events will be held at the Hollis Police Department, 9 Silver Lake Road, Hollis, NH.

The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses a crucial public safety and public health issue. According to the 2016 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.2 million Americans misused controlled prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet. The DEA's Take Back Day events provide an opportunity for Americans to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.

The Coffee with a Cop Program provides members of our community with an opportunity for real conversation about issues that matter to them. Over the time we have been hosting this event, members of the Hollis Police Department have enjoyed the opportunity of getting to know our wonderful citizens and discovering mutual goals aimed at the betterment of the community we serve and live in.

Our annual shred day allows citizens with an opportunity to destroy paper documents, including staples, paperclips, and folders. Non-paper items such as batteries and electronics are not permitted as they may lead to shred truck damage, including fire. Shred days are for personal document only - no business or commercial shredding. We are extremely appreciative for Shred-It for donating their services for this event.

We hope that you can join us for this wonderful event. Even you do not have any prescription drugs or old documents to drop-off, stop by and bring some canned foods, have a coffee with a member of the Hollis Police Department, and take a tour of the Hollis Police station.
