Press Release: Identity Theft Suspects Arrested

SUSPECT: Hoi Soo Yang, 36-year-old San Jose resident
VEHICLE: Silver 2003 Acura TL 2-door
On October 13, 2018, at 11:46 P.M., Milpitas police officers saw an occupied car, in the parking lot at the Best Western Brookside Inn Hotel, and made contact with the occupants. During the initial contact, an officer saw drug paraphernalia in plain-view and detained both individuals. Initially, both men gave false identities to the officers but after further investigation their true identities were revealed and both men had outstanding warrants for their arrest. The men were arrested and a search of their vehicle revealed several pieces of stolen mail, identities and credit cards from residents in Milpitas, San Jose and Los Altos.
The suspects were identified as Allan David Yap and Hoi Soo Yang, both residents from the City of San Jose. Yap had two outstanding felony arrest warrants for possession of stolen property and a Post Release Community Supervision warrant. Yang had five outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrants for narcotics violations. Both men were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for their warrants and the identity theft investigation is currently on-going.
