Century Station personnel responded to assist California Highway Patrol (CHP) with a gunshot victim call at approximately 12:00 a.m., Monday, October 22, 2018, on the 2000 block of El Segundo Boulevard, unincorporated Los Angeles.
Man Shot on El Segundo Bl in Unincorporated Los Angeles Overnight in Critical Condition
Century Station personnel responded to assist California Highway Patrol (CHP) with a gunshot victim call at approximately 12:00 a.m., Monday, October 22, 2018, on the 2000 block of El Segundo Boulevard, unincorporated Los Angeles.
CHP originally responded to a traffic collision call. When they arrived, they found the driver of the vehicle had sustained at least one gunshot to the upper torso. The victim, a male Hispanic in his 20's, was transported to a local hospital in serious condition.
Detectives have learned two male Hispanics exited the rear seats of the victim’s vehicle. One or both of the suspect(s) shot the victim, then ran eastbound on El Segundo Boulevard and out of view. The victim continued to drive a short distance before colliding with another vehicle.
The victim is a confirmed UBER driver, however, it has not been confirmed if the suspects were a paying customer at the time of the shooting.
It is unknown if the suspects are gang members.
