On October 19, 2018, at about 10:37 p.m., the Thousand Oaks Police Department and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to an injury Traffic Collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on Ventu Park Rd. at the U.S. Highway 101. The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital on October 22, 2018.
The male pedestrian was walking east across Ventu Park Rd between two controlled intersections. The driver of a small minivan was travelling north on Ventu Park Rd. when the vehicle collided with the pedestrian. The driver of the minivan did not suffer any injuries. The identity of the pedestrian is pending notification of next of kin by the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The collision is still under investigation by the Thousand Oaks Police Traffic Bureau. Anyone who might have witnessed the collision is asked to contact the Thousand Oaks Police Department at (805) 494-8275.
