Eustis Police Arrest Keith Dwayne Puryear after Vehicle and Foot Pursuit

Eustis Police Arrest Subject after Vehicle and Foot Pursuit
[Eustis, FL] – On October 24, 2018, at approximately 9:00 AM, Eustis Police Officers responded to the area of N. Exeter Street and E. Bates Avenue, in reference to a black male later identified as Keith Dewayne Puryear (20yoa) forcing his girlfriend into a white Chrysler passenger car. Puryear was armed with a firearm according to one witness. Puryear fled the area due to Officers responding with lights and sirens activated. Eustis Officers pursued Puryear to the area of CR 452 and Sandpiper Drive where he bailed from the vehicle leading officers on a foot pursuit and the victim was located without harm in the vehicle. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Florida Fish and Wildlife assisted in establishing a perimeter as deputies and officers searched the area for Puryear. A Hi-Point .380 handgun and cocaine held by Puryear was located during the foot pursuit. At approximately 9:43 AM Puryear was apprehended without further incident and transported to Lake County Jail for booking and charges of Kidnapping, Battery (Domestic), Resisting without Violence, Fleeing and Eluding, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Driving While License Suspended, and Possession of Cocaine in addition to Violation of Probation and an outstanding warrant.
