Marin County of Marin firefighters are planning on taking advantage of a window of opportunity as the weather conditions are forecasted to be favorable tomorrow for a controlled burn operation. When: Point Reyes Petaluma Rd X Novato Blvd, Hicks Valley from 9 AM till 2 PM Size: Approximately 9 Acres. Smoke Impacts: Smoke may be seen and could impact areas of rural Novato and Petaluma. Smoke may settle in lower ranch areas of Hicks Valley and Novato. Smoke should dissipate by the afternoon. Controlled burns are always dependent upon weather and wind conditions, as well as approval from the Northern Region CAL FIRE Duty Chief and notification to Bay Area Air Quality Management District.
