The Nature Conservancy will be conducting a prescribed burn near Independence Lake today through Saturday. 
The Nature Conservancy will be conducting a prescribed fire on the Independence Lake Preserve, near Independence Lake, North of Truckee. There may be some minimal smoke impacts to Truckee.
The prescribed operations will start today October 25th and continuing through the weekend. They're looking to underburn up to 300 acres.
Burning operations will be facilitated by private profesional fire crews and supervised overnight.
