The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch from 5:00 AM- 2:00 PM Saturday. As always, be alert when driving for the potential of flash flooding in the usual areas of poor drainage. There is currently NO RISK of the Passaic River flooding at this time!
Additionally, the NWS has issued a Wind Advisory until 5:00 PM Saturday. A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph,or gusts of 46 to 57 mph, are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles, in open areas, and on elevated roads and bridges. Use
extra caution.
Take the time to secure any remaining outdoor furniture, Halloween decorations, and garbage/recycling cans. With high winds, there always remains the potential for power outages caused by down tree limbs. Ensure your cell phones and portable electronic devices are charged.
Due to the forecasted winds and rain, the Township's Halloween Parade has been moved to Sunday at 1:00 PM in the Township Park.
