Subject: Fatal Traffic Collision
Location: Cedar Way and Marine Avenue Manhattan Beach, CA, 90266
On Monday, October 29, 2018, at approximately 12:17 p.m., MBPD officers responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Cedar Way and Marine Avenue.
According to witnesses, a male driving a white Ford F-150 was traveling east on Marine Avenue and turning right onto Cedar Way. A burgundy Honda Accord driven by an elderly male with his elderly wife in the passenger seat was traveling south on Cedar Way from the Manhattan Village Mall. The elderly male failed to stop for the red signal and collided into the Ford F-150. The male driver of the Ford F-150 was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The elderly male was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries. The elderly female suffered severe injuries and was transported to a trauma center. Unfortunately, the elderly female succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The name of the deceased will not be released at this time, pending the notification of next of kin.
This traffic investigation is being conducted by the Manhattan Beach Police Department Traffic Division.
