Victor Valley Transit bus driver & passengers step in and stop a sex offender from assaulting a young girl

SUSPECT: Antoine Ryans, 42 years old, resident of Apple Valley

SUMMARY:
On October 31, 2018, Deputies responded to a Victor Valley Transit bus stopped at Apple Valley Road and State Highway 18. The bus driver was forced to pull the bus over and requested assistance in removing a passenger who was harassing young mothers and saying and doing inappropriate things to children. The subject, identified as Antoine Ryans, fled the bus before deputies arrived, however deputies located him nearby.
Antoine Ryans was found to be a Sex Registrant and on Parole. Deputies learned Ryans made several sexual statements to a young female juvenile passenger before approaching her and attempting to contact her for sexual gratification. The bus driver and passengers became involved and stopped Ryans, who fled. Ryans was arrested and booked for Attempted Lewd Acts with a Minor and Parole Violation.
